Outline of the Exhibition:
At a time in which more than half of the worldfs population lives in urban areas, it is necessary to recognize that the effects of climate change and depleting fossil fuel sources are inextricably linked to a number of problems facing cities. What strategies are necessary to prepare for these problems? How will things change in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies? What effects will moving to renewable energies have on city systems and policies which aim for continuity and fluidity?

"Post-Oil City: The History of the Cityfs Future" presents innovative projects in Asia, Africa, and America that address these urgent questions. With planning for the project done in cooperation with ARCH+ and the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations, the exhibition has been well received everywhere it has gone, both inside and outside Germany. In Japan it is being held as a part of the 24th Tokyo World Conference on Architecture and is the highlight of the 150th Anniversary of German - Japanese relations. "Post-Oil City" will take place in Yokohama and will be open to the general public, free of charge.

Sincerely,
